RYUKYUAN MALARIA TECHNICIANS REPORT STUDY RESULTS "SIGNIFICANT" -- Two Ryukyuan Malaria technicians returned to Okinawa from a WHO-sponsored 30-day anti-malaria study in Taiwan and reported the results of the study to Capt. Carl Pace, Sanitary Engineer, Public Health and Welfare Dept., Office of the High Commissioner. The two technicians inspected various methods used in malaria eradication and attended lectures on malaria. Shown are Nobuo Motomori (left) and Kobo Miyara, both working in the Yaeyama Health Center. Arrangements for the study were made by the Office of the High Commissioner under its continuing educational and technical training programs for the Ryukyuan people.
【和訳】琉球人マラリア技師らが研修を「大変意義深いものだった」と報告 琉球マラリア対策技術者、講習を「意義深いものであった」と報告-30日間の日程で台湾で行われたWHO主催の抗マラリア調査から帰国した琉球マラリア対策技術者2名が、高等弁務官事務所保健福祉部衛生技師のカール・ペイス少佐に調査結果を報告。技術者の2人は、マラリア撲滅のための様々な方法を視察するとともに、マラリアに関する講義を受けた。写真は、八重山保健所のモトモリ・ノブオ(左)とミヤラ・コウボウ(右)。今回の講習は、高等弁務官事務所による琉球の人々のための継続的な教育・技術訓練プログラムとして行われた。
