OKINAWA'S HAWAIIAN COMMUNITY hosted Governor John A. Burns of Hawaii at a luncheon on June 14 during a two-day visit of the Governor and Mrs. Burns to Okinawa. Guests at the head table are, L-R: Hawaii State Representative Akira Sakima, currently paying a visit to Okinawa, home of his relatives; Cummins S. Joy, outgoing president of Hui O Hawaii, organization of Hawaiians resident on Okinawa; Governor Burns; Robert D. S. Ahn, incoming Hui O Hawaii president; High Commissioner of the Ryukyu Islands Paul W. Caraway; Civil Administrator Shannon McCune; Hawaii State Representative Toshio Serizawa, who came to Okinawa with Governor Burns, and Robert N. Akamine, auditor and board member, Hui Makaala Of Hawaii, currently on a visit to Okinawa in fivetharance of the Ryukyuan-Hawaiian brotherhood program. ≪沖縄在住のハワイ人グループは6月14日、2日間の予程で沖縄を訪問したバーンズハワイ州知事夫妻を昼食会に招待した。来賓席左から右に目下親戚のいる沖縄を訪問中のアキラ サキマ ハワイ州下院議員、沖縄在住のハワイ市民の会フィオハワイの現在の会長で間もなく任期終了する。カミンズ S. ジョーイ氏、バーンズ知事、フィオハワイの新しい会長に選ばれているロバート P. GOVERNOR JOHN A. BURNS OF HAWAII, accompanied by Mrs. Burns; Mr. Daniel T. Aoki, his administrative aide; and, Hawaii State Representative Toshio Serizawa, visited Okinawa on June 13 and 14 during the governor's tour of the Far East on behalf of promotion of tourism and commerce to Hawaii and the mainland United States. On Okinawa, the Governor made courtesy calls on leading U.S. and Ryukyuan officials, and met with local business and civil leaders and groups, and with United States Army, Air Force, Marine and Navy military and civilian personnel from Hawaii stationed on Okinawa. The Governor was honored at social affairs hosted by High Commissioner Paul W. Caraway, the Ryukyu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Hui O Hawaii, an organization of Hawaiians resident on Okinawa. ≪ジョン A. バーンズ ハワイ州知事はハワイ及び米本土と極東間の観光と商業の振興のための極東訪問の途次6月13日と14日の2日間、夫人、秘書のダニエル T. アオキ氏、トシオ セリザワ ハワイ州下院議員を伴って来沖した。同知事は沖縄で琉米の指導的官僚を儀礼訪問、実業及び民間指導者及び団体との会合、そしてハワイから沖縄に来ている米陸海空軍及び海兵隊及び民間人と会った。ポール W. キャラウェイ、琉球商工会議所、沖縄在住のハワイ市民の会であるフィオハワイがそれぞれ同知事のため歓迎会を催した。≫
