ANTI-LEPROSY DENTAL SERVICE GROUP -- Sixteen Japanese dentists and dental technicians arrived aboard a U.S. Fifth Air Force plane yesterday, July 17, at the invitation of the High Commissioner to examine and treat patients at Ryukyuan leprosaria. Professor Yoshio Umemoto of the Osaka Dental College, leader of the Group, (center) is welcomed by Col. Edwin R. Bane, commander of Naha Air Base. At left is Major G. L. Hall of 6351 U.S. Air Force Dispensary, Naha Air Base. The program is in its third year. It is sponsored by the welfare foundation of the Mainichi Newspapers of Japan, with the cooperation of the Fifth Air Force, and the Office of the High Commissioner. 【和訳】歯科奉仕団 - ハンセン病患者の歯科検査と治療のため、高等弁務官の招きで歯科医と歯科技工士16名が7月17日の昨日、第5米空軍機で来沖した。那覇基地司令官エドウィン・R・ベイン大佐の歓迎を受ける団長の大阪歯科大学ウメモト・ヨシオ教授(中央)。左は第6351米空軍診療所G・L・ホール少佐。今年で3年目となる同事業は、日本の毎日新聞社の福祉財団と第5空軍、高等弁務官室の援助で実施されている。
