PRESS CONFERENCE -- Mrs. Carolyn Watanabe, health educator, Hawaii TB Association, answers a question on anti-tuberculosis measures at a press conference held in the director's office of the Welfare Dept., Government of the Ryukyu Islands (GRI) on Jan. 24. Attending are Dr. Shigeo Iha (R, facing camera), chief, and Keitetsu Sunagawa (left corner), health educator, both of the Public Health Div., GRI Welfare Dept. Mrs. Watanabe and three other Hawaiian public health specialists arrived on Okinawa on Jan. 4 to conduct a three-week training program for GRI health personnel. The training program was arranged by the East-West Center in Honolulu, Hawaii at the request of the U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyus, and coordinated locally with the GRI.
【和訳】記者会見 - 1月24日に琉球政府厚生局長室で行われた記者会見で、結核対策についての質問に答えるハワイ結核協会のキャロリン・ワタナベ保健教育官。カメラに向かって右は琉球政府厚生局伊波茂雄公衆衛生部部長、左隅は同部署スナガワ・ケイテツ保健教育官。ワタナベ保健教育官と他3人のハワイの公衆衛生専門家は琉球政府の保健関係者を対象に3週間の研修を行うため、1月4日に来沖した。この研修計画はハワイ州ホノルルの東西センターが米国民政府の要請に応じて企画し、現地で琉球政府と調整したもの。
