WORLD HEALTH DAY--A World Health Day conference was held today in the conference room of the Executive Building in Naha as part of a program to observe the United Nations World Health Organization Day. This year's WHO day theme is "Preserve Sight, Prevent Blindness." Objectives of the today's conference were to call the public's attention to the work being done in the Ryukyus on behalf of the blind; to credit those agencies known to engage in programs for the blind; and to coordinate, in broad terms, future activities in blind assistance programs. 世界保健デー－那覇市の行政府ビルの会議室で本日、世界保健デー会議が開催された。会議は国連世界保健機関デーを記念したプログラムの一環となるもの。今年のWHOデーのテーマは「視力を守ろう、失明を防ごう"Preserve Sight, Prevent Blindness"」。本日の会議の目的は、琉球での視覚障害者のための活動に一般の人々の注意を喚起すること、視覚障害者のための事業に関わる機関を評価すること、そして視覚障害者支援プログラムにおける今後の活動を大枠で調整すること。写真は（左から右へ）コクバ・ズイセイ氏（琉球政府福祉部福祉課長）、A・アルフレッド・ジマーマン氏（米国海外盲人基金コンサルタント、高等弁務官府職員）、ヤーナ少佐（高等弁務官事務所福祉担当）、ヨナシロ・チョウジュン盲聾学校校長、カカズ・ヨシタカ氏（高等弁務官事務所公衆衛生福祉部通訳者）、琉球政府主任保健師のキンジョウ・タケオ、琉球政府教育部のナカムラ・ギエイ、高等弁務官事務所保健福祉部のヤマザキ・キョウイチソーシャルワーカー。
