Mr. Jerry A. Guerzon, chief, Logistics Division, Administration Office, U.S. Civil Administration, receives the High Commissioner's certificate of appreciation from Civil Administrator Robert A. Fearey while Mrs. Guerzon looks on, at a ceremony held at the USCAR conference room Dec. 14. Mr. Guerzon was commended for distinctive service during the period Feb. 6, l948 through Dec. 20, 1971. The citation said, "Mr. Guerzon served as the Staff Supply Officer responsible and accountable for all properties under the cognizance of USCAR. His responsibilities during this long period of service encompassed the supervision of supply accounts and logistical support for all USCAR Departments, Cultural Centers, Civil Administration Teams at Miyako and Yaeyama, Petroleum Distribution Activities, Ryukyu Domestic Water Corporation, Ryukyu Electric Power Corporation, Ryukyu Development Loan Corporation, Bank of the Ryukyus, and Ryukyu Travel Unit in Japan as well as the support of the Michigan State University and University of Hawaii Groups during their tenures. "Assets over which Mr. Guerzon exercised supervision were valued in excess of $10 million at one time and supervised a workforce of as many as 60 military and civilian personnel. Mr. Guerzon is departing soon for a new assignment in Honolulu, his home.
