Ryoichi (Roy) Yamasaki, retiring after more than 20 years with the U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyu Islands (USCAR), is presented a Certificate of Achievement by Col. (Dr.) Robert T. Jensen, director, USCAR's Health, Education and Welfare Department. The certificate, signed by Civil Administrator Robert A. Fearey, credits Mr. Yamasaki's "years of patient, dedicated leadership and guidance" with having a "profound influence in developing the social welfare system and institutions of the Ryukyus". Mr. Yamasaki joined USCAR in May 1949. He retired with 23 years of combined military and civil service, and departed Okinawa on September 22, 1969 for Koloa, Kauai, Hawaii. 【和訳】 米民政府メンバーの引退 琉球列島米国民政府での20年以上の勤務を終えて引退するリョウイチ (ロイ) ・ヤマサキ氏に、米民政府厚生教育局長ロバート・T・ジェンセン大佐 (博士) から業績証明書が贈られた。ロバート・A・フィアリー民政官の署名入りの証明書で、ヤマザキ氏の「長年の忍耐と献身的な指導」が「琉球の社会福祉制度と制度の発展に多大な影響を与えた」と称賛した。ヤマサキ氏は1949年5月にUSCARに配属。彼は軍と民間での23年間の勤務を終えて引退し、1969年9月22日にハワイのカウアイ島コロアに向けて沖縄を出発した。 【分類】Awards / 賞
