写真解説：
Under a program of the Labor Dept., Office of the High Commissioner, to encourage local industry to hire handicapped persons so they can earn a livelihood, the Okinawa Sango Corp. coral products plant in Kume-cho, Naha, Okinawa is employing 11 handicapped persons, one of whom is shown above (center), in cutting, grinding and polishing coral. At left is Mr. Kihei Tokishi of the Labor Dept., who has been active in urging local firms to hire and train handicapped persons in useful occupations, and at right is Mr. Hisao Tsuji, a Japanese technician, brought by the company from Japan for the purpose of training the handicapped persons. The photo was taken on June 24, l964.
【和訳】 障がい者雇用
障がい者が生計を立てることができるように地元産業界に障がい者雇用を促す高等弁務官事務所労働局のプログラムのもと、那覇久米町の沖縄サンゴ社では、11人の障がい者が雇用されている。写真はその中の1人 (中央) が珊瑚のカッティング、研削、研磨作業をしているところ。左は地元企業に障がい者の雇用・育成に積極的に働きかけている労働局のトキシ・キヘイ氏。右は障がい者の訓練のため日本から招いた技術者のツジ・ヒサオ氏。写真は1964年6月24日撮影。
