Kasuke Gushi (R), chief, Business Div., Ryukyu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), and Tatsuhiro Oshiro (3rd from L, beck to camera), chief, Commerce and Trade Section, Trade and Industry Dept., Government of the Ryukyu Islands (GRI), are shown explaining about Ryukyuan products for American customers, at Brooks Hall in the San Francisco Civic Center where the United States World Trade Fair was held May 12-22. Ryukyuan products displayed at the fair for the eighth consecutive year, included transistor radios, cameras, processed and semi-processed coral, jade jewelry, sea-shell, glass and leather products, lacquerware, pottery, Bingata textile materials, and dolls. The RCCI arranged for and collected the products for display. The GRI provided financial assistance for participation in the fair and the U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyu Islands (USCAR) provided round-trip transportation to and from San Francisco for the two Ryukyuan trade officials.

5月12日から22日まで米国サンフランシスコ・シビックセンターのブルックスホールで行われた米国ワールドトレードフェアで、琉球の製品について来場者に説明する琉球商工会議所業務部長の具志嘉助氏 (右) と琉球政府通商産業局通商課課長の大城立裕氏 (左から3人目、カメラに背を向けている) 。トランジスタラジオ、カメラ、珊瑚の加工・半加工製品、翡翠の宝石類、貝殻、ガラスや皮革製品、漆器、焼き物、紅型の織物、琉球人形など、琉球製品は8年連続の展示となる。これら展示された製品は、琉球商工会議所の手配によるもの。琉球政府は見本市に参加する2人のために資金援助を行い、琉球列島米国民政府もサンフランシスコまでの往復旅費を提供した。
