RYUKYUAN CIGARETTES TO JAPAN - Three Ryukyu tobacco companies will export 34,000 cases of cigarettes to Japan under contract with the Japan Monopoly Corporation. The Ryukyu Tobacco Company with offices in Tsubogawa, Naha City, will export 20,000 cases of cigarettes; the Oriental Tobacco Company, Naha City, 7,000 cases; and the Okinawa Tobacco Company, Naha City, 7,000 cases. In Japan, cigarette production cannot meet the demand. If the Ryukyuan product enjoys popularity in Japan, the corporation will continue entrusting the local companies with the manufacture of cigarettes for consumption in Japan.
