Monkey Pod seeds, a beautiful tree growing in Hawaii, are presented by Dr. Jack T. Ishida, (3rd from right) agricultural economics and marketing specialist, University of Hawaii, to Government of the Ryukyus Chief Executive Seisaku Ota, on behalf of Mr. Steven Seikichi Chinen, president of the United Okinawan Association of Hawaii. Dr. Ishida was part of a Hawaiian agricultural specialists' group visiting Okinawa for a technical assistance program to the Ryukyuan people sponsored by the U.S. Army Pacific Headquarters in Hawaii, in coordination with the Office of the High Commissioner of the Ryukyu Is. In photo are, L-R: Dr. Williams I. Hugh, swine production; Dr. Kenneth T. Otagaki, cattle industries; Mr. Ota; Dr. Ishida; Hawaiian State Legislator Akira Sakima, cattle specialist; and Mr. Tokushi Tanaka, poultry specialist.
