Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Woodard, member of the Stone Gate Club, entertained the people of Zamami with an exhibition of the American square dance last Saturday, Nov. 5. The Woodards accompanied a group of USCAR officials who presented a grant from the High Commissioner's Special Fund to the island community to be used to build a community center. The entertainment program followed the presentation of the grant by Monta L. Osborne, director of the Office of Public Affairs, USCAR, in behalf of the High Commissioner, Lieut. General Donald P. Booth. The Stone Gate Club is a group of University of the Ryukyus students and interested Americans.
【和訳】 ストーンゲートクラブが座間味で舞台を披露
ストーンゲートクラブのメンバーであるC・L・ウッダード夫妻は11月5日、座間味の人々の前でスクエアダンスを披露した。ウッダーズ夫妻は高等弁務官特別資金から島の公民館建設のための助成金贈呈で訪れた米民政府当局者のグループに同行した。この催しは、高等弁務官ドナルド・P・ブース中将を代表して米民政府広報局長モンタ・L・オズボーン氏による贈呈式に引き続いて行われた。ストーンゲートクラブは琉球大学の学生と米人によって構成されている。
