Civil Administrator John G. Ondrick was a guest speaker at the 11th Annual Okinawa Women's Federation's 11th Annual Convention held on Jan. 28 at the Kokuei Theater in Naha. Civil Administrator Ondrick told the 1,300 women gathered at the convention that "your Federation is a great moral force throughout the Ryukyus..." He urged that the women of the Ryukyus "to protect your interests beyond your immediate selves and surroundings...to continue to expand your area of influence...to demand that any ills of your community are corrected...to be a motivating force in this new age." Interpreting for the Civil Administrator was Maj. Raymond Harada, his language aid.
【和訳】 婦人大会のゲストに民政官 沖縄婦人連合会は1月28日、那覇市の国映館で、11回目となる大会を開催した。大会ゲストは、ジョン・G・アンドリック民政官。今年の大会テーマは「母子福祉の増進と明るい社会の創立」。ステージ上に並ぶ (左から) 沖縄市町村会代表キンジョウ・シンハン氏、琉球政府立法院長嶺秋夫議長、瀬長浩行政主席、アンドリック民政官。
