Walker Cisler, President of the Detroit Edison Company, visited Okinawa on Aug. 6 as part of his tour through southern and eastern Asia. Mr. Cisler was the guest of the Ryukyu Electric Power Corporation and the Takunan Steel Company. He was entertained by Gerald Warner, Civil Administrator of the Ryukyu Islands, briefed by Lt, Col. W. H. Beauchamp, chief of USCAR Public Works Dept., and conducted on a tour of the operation of the new Kin Power Plant. The purpose of Mr. Cisler's Asian tour is to evaluate the need for and progress of industrial development in those countries. His tour has already included Iran, India, Laos, Thailand, South Viet Nam, and Taiwan. Mr. Cisler departed Okinawa on August 7 to attend talks in Tokyo, Japan. デトロイト・エジソン社のウォーカー・シスラー社長は、8月6日、南アジアと東アジアを巡るツアーの一環として沖縄を訪問。シスラー氏は琉球電力公社と拓南製鐵株式会社のゲストとして招待された。シスラー氏は琉球列島米国民政府のジェラルド・ワーナー民政官に接待され、同庁公益事業局長のW・H・ボーチャンプ大佐から説明を受けたあと、新しい金武発電所の操業を視察した。シスラー氏のアジアツアーの目的は、これらの国々における産業発展の必要性と進展を評価すること。彼のツアーには、すでにイラン、インド、ラオス、タイ、南ベトナム、台湾が含まれる。シスラー氏は8月7日に沖縄を出発し、東京での会談に出席。シスラー氏(左から2番目)と写るのは左から、琉球政府松岡政保行政主席、ワーナー民政官、琉球電力公社屋田甚助総裁及び同社の長嶺文雄副総裁。
