Newest Gri Police Patrol Boat Sails In Tomari Port Aug. 6 after presentation of a certificate of appreciation from the GRI police to Col. Duval S. Adams, commanding officer, U.S. Army Transportation Group, Ryukyu Is. The vessel recently declared surplus by the USATG and turned over to the GRI police after coordination between the Public Safety Dept., Office of the High Commissioner, and the USATG, The vessel is 45 feet long, with dual 175 hp engines and can develop speeds up to 17 knots. It was completely reconditioned by the GRI police for use in the Yaeyama Gunto area. Among those shown aboard the vessel were Col. Adams, Mr. Harriman N.
