Yukio Yogi, director of the Government of the Ryukyu Islands Police Department, yesterday presented letters of appreciation to firemen of Camp Butler, Camp Hauge and Camp Hansen of the 3rd Marine Division, for "promoting closer friendship between the American and Ryukyuan people through their self-sacrificing spirit dedicated to their duties as fire fighters and service to the communities." I.J. Brown (right) fire chief, Camp Butler, is shown receiving a letter of appreciation from Director Yogi, during the Ryukyu Islands Fire Protection Advisory Group's monthly meeting. Civil Administrator Shannon McCune (seated, center), honorary president of the Association; Harriman N. Simmons (seated, left), director, Public Safety Department, Office of the High Commissioner; Shi-Cho- Son Mayors, and other Ryukyuan American officials attended the meeting.
