Burns (end of the table) at the latter's mansion, during the group's recent 10-day visit to Hawaii under the Ryukyuan-Hawaii Brotherhood Program sponsored by the U.S. Army, Pacific in coordination with the Office of the High Commissioner. Shown at the table (L-R): Messrs. Patrick Arakaki, member, Board of Directors, Hui-Makaala, an organization of Hawaiian-Americans of Ryukyuan ancestry; GGC's Hirosada Ohama, vice-president, Ryukyu Domestic Water Corporation; Gov. Burns; GGC's Taro Miiya, education advisor, Education Dept., Office of the High Commissioner; GGC's Iwao Takamiya, chief of the research section, Ryukyu Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives; and "Dynamite" Takushi, sergeant at arms, Hawaii State Senate. The three GGC members had discussions with members of Hui-Makaala, visited the University of Hawaii and the East-West Center, and met with students from the Ryukyus; toured water supply facilities, a pineapple research center, and the Hawaiian Sugar Planters Association. The GGC mission also paid a courtesy call on Honolulu Mayor Neal S. Blaisdell, and the Hawaii Hochi and Hawaii Times, two Japanese-language newspapers in Honolulu. 高等弁務官府と太平洋米国陸軍の連携によって後援された沖縄ハワイ親睦会プログラムの下の近日10日間の訪問の間に、金門クラブ親善代表はハワイ州知事ジョン・A・バーンズ氏(テーブルの端)と同氏の邸宅にて朝食をとった。テーブルに見られるのは(左から)、パトリック・新垣(琉球系のハワイ米人の団体でフイマカアラクラブの理事)、金門クラブの大浜博貞(琉球水道公社副総裁)、バーンズ知事、金門クラブの新屋太郎(高等弁務官府教育部教育顧問)、金門クラブの高宮巌(琉球農連調査課長)、"ダイナマイト"沢岻(ハワイ州上院守衛)。金門クラブの一行はフイマカアラのメンバーと話し合い、又ハワイ大学、イースト・ウェスト・文化センターを訪問琉球からの学生と話し合った。又、水道施設、パイナップル調査センター、ハワイ甘蔗協会を訪れた。一行はニール・S・ブライスデル、ホノルル市長を訪問、又、ハワイ報知、ハワイタイムスを訪れた。写真は6月19日に写したもの。
