Camping equipment to include shelter halves, blankets, mess kits, cups, canteens and entrenching tools was presented to the Ryukyuan Boy Scouts for their Yaeyama units by Mr. Earl Glines (3rd from R) on behalf of the High Commissioner at a brief ceremony at Naha Port. Shown looking over the equipment are (L-R) Messrs Yoshinobu Hosokawa, professional Ryukyuan Boy Scout executive; Choshin Kabira, Ryukyuan Boy Scout district commissioner ; Wasaburo Takeuchi, district chairman; Mr. Glines of the U.S. Army Transportation Gp who made the necessary arrangements for the transaction; Fumio Oyazato, the camping chairman; and Richard Weidman, professional Boy Scout executive. Mr. Takeuchi accepted the items on behalf of the Yaeyama .Scouts. Shipment of the equipment to Ishigaki will be next week.
【和訳】 琉球ボーイスカウトに寄贈されたキャンプ用品
那覇港で行われた簡単なセレモニーでは、高等弁務官を代理してアール・グラインズ氏（右から3人目）から琉球ボーイスカウトの八重山隊に、シェルター、毛布、食器、カップ、キャンテーン、土工器具などのキャンプ用品が贈呈された。左から、細川吉信(琉球地区理事長)、川平朝申(琉球地区コミッショナー)、竹内和三郎(琉球地区委員長)、取引に必要な手配をしてくれた米陸軍輸送グループのグラインズ氏、オヤザト・フミオ(野営活動委員長)、リチャード・ウェイドマン(理事長)が機材を見渡している。八重山ボーイスカウトを代表して竹内氏が寄贈品を受け取った。寄贈品の石垣への発送は来週になる。
