representatives held a news conference on Mar. 2 to announce their plans for the forthcoming visit of the Cornell University Glee Club, scheduled to arrive and present concerts on Okinawa Mar. 30 - Apr. 2. The glee club is touring Southeast Asia and the Far East under the auspices of the U.S. State Dept.'s Cultural Presentations Program, and will be sponsored locally by the Okinawan Clubs of Rotary International, through the cooperation of the U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyu Islands.

沖縄ロータリークラブの代表は3月2日にコーネル大学グリークラブの訪問を事前に控え、沖縄到着の3月30日から4月2日にかけてコンサートを催す同計画の発表を含めた記者会見を行った。グリークラブは米国国務省の文化プレゼンテーションプログラムの後援を受け、東南アジアと極東をツアーしており、琉球列島米国民政府の協力を得て、沖縄国際ロータリークラブによって後援される。
