AMERICAN BRASS QUINTET performed its first concert at the Okinawa Times Hall in Naha on April 19 under the auspices of the U. S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyus and the Okinawa Brass Musicians Association. The members of one of America's outstanding chamber music ensembles are (L-R) Arnold Fromme, tenor trombone; Robert Biddlecome, bass trombone; Edward Birdwell, French horn; Gerald Schwarz, trumpet; and John Eckert, trumpet. The quintet performed its final concert at the Kubasaki High School Auditorium and held a workshop for brass instrumentalists at the Kamihara Junior High School in Naha on April 20. The quintet's tour of the Far East and Pacific is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State under its cultural presentation program. The group left for Hong Kong

アメリカン・ブラス・クインテットは4月19日、USCARと沖縄金管奏者協会の主催で那覇の沖縄タイムスホールで初公演を行った。メンバーは左からテナートロンボーンのアーノルド・フロム、バストロンボーンのロバート・ビドルカム、フレンチホルンのエドワード・バードウェル、トランペットのジェラルド・シュワルツ、同じくトランペットのジョン・エッカート。クインテットは20日にクバサキ・ハイスクールで最終公演を行い、那覇の神原中学校では金管楽器奏者を対象にワークショップを開催した。クインテットの極東・太平洋地域での演奏旅行は、米国務省の文化交流プログラムの一環として実施されたものである。一行は4月21日に次の訪問地である香港へ出発した。
