Brig. Gen. Wilson M. Osteen, Assistant Surgeon General for Veterinary Services DA, and chief of the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps, visited Okinawa May 17 through May 21 to observe the Veterinary Activity, as part of his three-week Far East observation tour to Vietnam, Japan and Korea. During his five-day stay on Okinawa, he also visited the Animal Health Research Institute and the Animal Quarantine Station of the Government of the Ryukyu Islands. Gen. Osteen left for Japan on May 21. ≪ウイルソン M. オスティーン准将（米陸軍獣医副総監兼米陸軍獣医兵団長）は、ベトナム、日本、および韓国を3週間にわたって訪問することになっているが、その一環として17日から21日まで沖縄に滞在し、米陸軍獣医療センターの獣医部隊を視察した。さらに、オスティーン准将は、琉球政府の家畜衛生試験場、および動物検疫所を訪問した。同准将は、5月21日、日本本土向け出発した。≫
