Mrs. James B. Lampert, wife of the High Commissioner, visited the Naha Hospital at Yogi, Naha, on March 25, as part of her familiarization tours of medical and welfare institutions in the Ryukyus. Following a briefing given by the hospital director, Dr. Tatsuo Tabata, on the hospital's role, purposes and methods of operations, Mrs. Lampert observed the facilities and met the staff and patients of the hospital. The hospital was constructed in 1959 at a total cost of $817,440 including $355,166 from the U.S. and $462,325 from the Government of the Ryukyu Islands. The hospital has a staff of 269, including 25 physicians (five from the Government of Japan), 114 nurses, six medical servicemen, 19 X-ray and laboratory technicians, and four pharmacists. Mrs. Lampert was accompanied by .Dr. Rollin J. Hawley, preventive medicine officer, Health, Education and Welfare Dept., U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyu. ≪ジェームス・ B・ランパート高等弁務官夫人は3月25日、沖縄の医療福祉施設訪問の一環として、那覇市与儀にある那覇病院を訪問した。ランパート夫人は田端辰夫院長から那覇病院の役割り、目的及び運営方法等に関する説明を受けた後、同病院の職員や患者と会談した。那覇病院は1959年、総工費817,440ドルで建設され、総工費のうち355,166ドルは米国援助で、残り462,325ドルは琉球政府負担、同病院の職員数は医師25人（5人は日本政府公務員医師）、看護師114人、医介輔6人、レントゲン技師と実験技師19人、及び薬剤師4人を含めて269人である。なお、ランパート夫人の訪問には、米国民政府厚生教育局のローリン・ J・ハウリー予防医学官が同行した。≫
