OKINAWAN DELIGATES RETURN FROM FEAEW -- Two Okinawan delegates returned from Korea on June 25 and 30 after completing a two-week discussion and study at the Fourth Far East Agricultural Extension Workshop held in Seoul from June 11 through 23. Attending the international workshop as the first Okinawan delegates were Zuiko Koza, extension service editor, Agricultural Extension Office, University of the Ryukyus, and Mrs. Fumiyo Nakazato, extension service specialist, Improvement and Extension Section of the Government of the Ryukyu Islands. In the press conference on July 3, Koza said, "Korea is successful in public relations in agriculture and forestry "while Mrs. Nakazato said, "I really felt the importance of English as an international language at the workshop." The workshop was sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development and by the Government of the Republic of Korea.
【和訳】沖縄の代表者の帰沖 - 6月11日から23日まで韓国ソウルで開催された「第4回極東農業普及研修会」での2週間の討議と研修を終え、6月25日と30日に沖縄代表の2人が帰沖した。国際的な研修会に沖縄から初めて参加したのは、琉球大学農業普及所コザ・ズイコウ編集員と、琉球政府農業改良普及課ナカザト・フミヨ指導員。7月3日の記者会見でコザは「韓国は農林業のPRに成功している」と述べ、ナカザトは「ワークショップで国際語としての英語の重要性を痛感した」と語った。研修会は米国国際開発庁と韓国政府の後援で行われた。
