COMPLETION OF STUDY IN U.S. -- Dr. Katsumi Sunagawa (R), obstetrician-gynecologist at Naha Hospital, calls on Dr. (Col.) Robert T. Jensen, director of the Health, Education and Welfare Dept., U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyus (USCAR) on April 3 after completing three months of training in the care of pre­maturely born babies at the Los Angeles Children's Hospital, operated by the University of Southern California. Dr. Sunagawa's study program resulted from joint efforts of USCAR and the Depart­ment of Health, Education and Welfare in Washington. USCAR pro­vided him with round-trip transportation and other expenses necessary for the training, and DHEW coordinated arrangements with the Los Angeles Children's Hospital. ≪那覇病院の砂川勝美医師（産婦人科）、サウザンカリフォルニア大学の附属病院であるロスアンゼルスチルドレン病院で、3か月間にわたる未熟児の取り扱いに関する研究を終え、4月1日に帰沖した。写真は砂川医師（右）が、4月3日、米国民政府厚生教育局のロバート・T・ジェンスン局長を訪問しているところ。砂川医師の研修計画は、米国民政府とワシントンの米保健厚生文部省の協力によって実現したものであり、同医師の往復の旅費とその他研修に必要な費用は民政府が負担した。なお、米保健厚生文部省はロスアンゼルスチルドレン病院との受け入れ交渉等を担当した。≫
