ANTI-MEASLES VACCINATION -- The Government of the Ryukyu Islands Welfare Department began its 4th annual Ryukyus-wide anti-measles program for some 20,000 Ryukyuan children between the ages of one year and two and a half years on Sept. 21. Tatsuko Nakasone, public health nurse, Naha Health Center, administers the measles vaccine to a child at the Mawashi Branch Office of the Naha City Office. The U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyus, in supporting the program, has provided $32,000 from its disease control fund for the purchase of the measles vaccine. ≪ハシカの予防接種-琉球政府厚生局は9月21日、全琉の1才から2才6か月の幼児20,000人を対象に第4回年次ハシカ予防接種計画を開始した。写真は那覇保健所の仲宗根タツ子公看が那覇市役所真和志支所で幼児にハシカの予防接種を行っているところ。この予防接種計画を援助するため、米国民政府は疫病対策基金からハシカのワクチン購入費として32,000ドルを支出した。≫
