CONGRATULATORY SPEECH -- In congratulating the formation of the Okinawa Public Health Association, High Commissioner James B. Lampert May 10 urged coordinated efforts toward building a more healthful environment as Okinawa becomes "more industrialized, sophisticated and complex". He spoke before an audience of leading government, medical and public health officials from Okinawa and Japan proper. The meeting took place at the Ryukyu Mutual Life Insurance Company Building, Naha. The association aims at improving the health and welfare of the people by combining into one unit the various disciplines active in the field of public health. ≪祝辞--ジェームス・B・ランパート高等弁務官は、5月10日、沖縄公衆衛生協会の設立記念大会で挨拶し、沖縄の社会が産業化され、かつ複雑化するにつれて、より健全で衛生的な環境づくりに協同の努力を傾注する必要があると語った。同記念大会は、日琉両政府関係者、医療及び公衆衛生関係の指導者多数の出席のもとに、那覇市内の琉球生命ビルで行われた。同協会は、公衆衛生の分野における色々の施策を総合的にまとめることによって、沖縄住民の健康と福祉の増進をはかることを目的としている。≫
