HONORARY MEMBERSHIP -- President Jinshiro Miyagi (L) of the Okinawa Public Health Association on May 10 presented a certificate of honorary membership to Dr. (Col.) John P, Fairchild, director of the Health, Education and Welfare Dept., U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyus, at a meeting at the Ryukyu Mutual Life Insurance Company Building in Naha, commemorating establishment of the association. The certificate reads "Since your assignment in July 1966, you have exerted considerable effort in promoting the welfare of the Okinawan prefectural people and rendered a great contribution towards public health service in Okinawa. Based on the consensus of this association and to praise your distinguished service forever, it is a privilege to present you with an honorary membership of this association." Back row at right is High Commissioner James B. Lampert, and at left is Sakae Kishi, chief, Japanese Government Okinawa Office.

名誉会員 - 沖縄県公衆衛生協会の宮城仁四郎会長（左）は5月10日、那覇市の琉球生命ビルで開かれた協会設立記念式典で、米国民政府厚生教育局福祉部長ジョン・P・フェアチャイルド博士（大佐）に名誉会員証を授与した。賞状には「1966年7月の赴任以来、沖縄の人々の福祉の増進に尽力し、沖縄の公衆衛生への多大な貢献に対して、協会の総意に基づき功績を永遠に称え、本協会の名誉会員資格を贈呈する」と書かれている。後方右はジェームズ・B・ランパート高等弁務官、左は日本政府沖縄事務所の岸昌所長。
