MEETING-- Dr. John R. Dr. John R. Trautman, one of the leading American experts in Hansen's disease, and the director of the U.S. Public Health Service Hospital, Carville, La., is on an eight-day tour here to evaluate and observe the control program of the Hansen's disease in the Ryukyus. While here he will consult and provide technical assistance to staff personnel of medical institutions and the Government Program of the Ryukyu Islands. Dr. Trautman will also lecture on leprosy control for doctors and public health nurses at the Okinawa Medical Association Hall in Naha, Nov. 4, and at the Okinawa Central Hospital in Gushikawa, Nov. 7. His itinerary includes visits to the two leprosaria, one is Airaku-en, YagaJi, Okinawa, and other is Nansei-en, Miyako. While in this area he will also visit the health centers in Miyako and Yaeyama; and the Hansen's Disease Rehabilitation Center, and skin clinic in Naha. He will leave Okinawa for the United States on Nov. 8. ≪米国のハンセン氏病権威者の一人であるジョン・R・トロウトマン医師（ルイジアナ州カービル在米国公衆衛生局病院々長）が10月31日来島し、現在ハンセン氏病対策実態調査と検討及び各施設の医療関係者への技術指導と助言並びに琉球政府のハンセン氏病対策計画に対する指導助言等を行っている。トロウトマン院長は又、沖縄の医師と公看を対象に11月4日那覇市内の沖縄医師会館で、又11月7日中部病院でハンセン氏病対策について講演を行う。同院長は愛楽園、南静園、宮古保健所、八重山保健所、後保護指導所、那覇市内のスキンクリニック等を訪問する。なお、同氏は8日間沖縄に滞在し11月8日帰国することになっている。≫
