JOINT INSPECTION -- U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyus (USCAR) and Government of the Ryukyu Islands (GRI) officials inspected education, health and welfare projects on Izena and Iheya islands, June 27. The inspection included the situation of classrooms and lunch programs in the schools on both islands and the emergency food distribution for 1,800 sufferers of last year's drought. The joint team also inspected a toilet built with $2,900 in USCAR fund at the Izena Junior High School. Members of the 97th Civil Affairs Group are contributing their time and skills to building a new toilet at the Iheya Junior High School. Shown are (L-R): Robert W.
