GRADUATION CEREMONY -- Nine Ryukyuan technicians of the U.S. Army and the Government of the Ryukyu Islands (GRI), who completed a basic course in medical equipment maintenance on June 7, pose with Col. (Dr.) John P. Fairchild (5th from L), director, Health, Education and Welfare Dept. (HEW), U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyus (USCAR); Kenjun Nakayama (7th from L), chief, Medical Affairs Div., GRI Welfare Dept.; and Col. John E. Mathis (8th from L), commanding officer, U.S. Army's 70th Medical Depot. The training program, jointly sponsored by USCAR and USAMC in cooperation with GRI, was designed to teach techniques and procedures in the maintenance and repair of medical equipment.
