NURSING MEETING - Mrs. Haruyo Yoshioka, public health nurse, Health Div., Health, Education and Welfare Dept., U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyus, is shown speaking before Ryukyuan nurses at the 4th annual meeting of Public Health Nurses Association at Maternal-Child Center, Yogi, May 25. In her speech, Mrs. Yoshioka praised the interest the public health nurses had shown in improving their skills and nursing services and continuing their education in depth. She noted that "this interest may have come out of necessity because of the rapidly changing environment requiring newer concepts of health work; unless the nurses were sincere in wanting to make the changes, there would not be this obvious progress. "
【和訳】看護集会 - 与儀の母子福祉センターで5月25日に開催された公衆衛生看護婦会の第4回通常総会で、琉球の看護婦を前に講演する米国民政府厚生教育局福祉部公衆衛生看護婦ヨシオカ・ハルコ。スピーチで、看護婦たちが自らの技術や看護サービスを向上させ、深く学び続ける姿勢を称賛した。ヨシオカは「これは環境が急速に変化し、より新しい保健事業の概念が求められるために必然的に生じたものかもしれません。しかし看護婦たちが真剣に変化を望まなければ、この明らかな進展はなかったでしょう」と述べた。
