DISCUSSION ON TRAINING PROGRAM -- Dr. Takemichi Kurosu (2nd from L, facing camera), chief research officer and professor of epidemiology, Institute of Public Health, Tokyo, is shown exchanging views on training programs for public health personnel with medical personnel of the Welfare Dept., Government of the Ryukyu Islands; Public Health and welfare Dept., U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyus (PH&W, USCAR); and the Naha Nursing School, at the school May 7. Dr. Kurosu visited Okinawa May 4 for five days as part of a three-month fellowship by the World Health Organization (WHO) to obtain first-hand information on training programs for public health personnel and insight into the public health problems of Korea, the Ryukyus, Taiwan and Southeast Asia areas.
【和訳】訓練計画について意見交換 - 5月7日、東京公衆衛生研究所主任研究員で疫学教授の黒子武道博士（向かって左から2人目）が那覇看護学校で≪琉球政府厚生局、米国民政府公衆衛生福祉局及び那ハ看護婦学校の医療関係者と公衆衛生関係者のための訓練計画について意見の交換を行っているところ。写真はカメラに向かって左から那覇看護婦学校長照屋寛善医師、黒子博士、米国民政府公衆衛生福祉局公衆衛生部長デュアン・A・セバハ大尉（軍医）、同公衆衛生部公看島袋昌子さん、那覇看護婦学校の伊敷和枝教官及び前田洋子教官である。黒子博士は韓国、沖縄、台湾及び東南アジア地域の公衆衛生関係者のための訓練計画に関する資料を得る一方、同地域の公衆衛生問題を深く研究するため世界保健機構（WHO)から3か月間の特別研究費を得て視察旅行中であるが、その一環として5月4日から4日間の日程で沖縄を訪問した。≫
