WHO OFFICIAL -- Doctor Pier L. Fazzi (R), representative for the Northwest Pacific Area, World Health Organization (WHO), is shown conferring with (L-R) Dr. Chokei Yoshida, staff physician, Naha Hospital; Dr. Minoru Hara, director, Koza Health Center; and Col (Dr.) John P. Fairchild, director, Public Health and Welfare Dept., U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyus (USCAR). The meeting was held Feb. 6 in Col. Fairchild's office. Dr. Fazzi arrived in Okinawa to discuss WHO-sponsored training programs with medical and health officials of the Government of the Ryukyu Islands, USCAR, and the University of the Ryukyus. During 1968, under WHO sponsorship, six medical officials from Japan, Taiwan and Malaysia are expected to visit Okinawa to study and observe local public health programs. 【和訳】世界保健機関(WHO)担当官 - WHO北大西洋地域顧問ピエル・L・ファジー医師 (右)と話し合う(左から)那覇病院の那覇病院の吉田朝敬医師、コザ保健所の長原実医師、米国民政府公衆衛生局長ジョン・P・フェアチャイルド大佐。会議は2月6日、フェアチャイルド大佐の執務室で行われた。≪ファジー医師は琉球政府、民政府及び琉球大学の医療保健関係者とWHOの研修計画について打ち合わせをするため2月5日に来島したもの。なおWHO主催で今季度に日本々土、マレーシア及び台湾の医療保健関係者が沖縄の公衆衛生計画を視察調査するため来沖することになっている。≫
