Dr. Brubaker is Miss Mieko Maeshiro (L), public health educator, Public Health and Welfare Dept., U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyu Islands (USCAR). The lecture was conducted at the newly-opened recreation center for patients of Airaku-en, which was named "Passman Hall" by the patients in honor of U.S. Representative Otto E. Passman (D-La.), chairman of the Foreign Operations subcommittee of the House of Representatives Appropriations Committee. Dr. Brubaker arrived on Okinawa Nov. 12 for his second visit and to lecture on Hansen's disease to Ryukyuan Health personnel at the invitation of USCAR. He is scheduled to depart for India Nov. 20.
【和訳】ハンセン病についての講演 - 11月15日に愛楽園15号病棟で 、琉球の保健医療関係者と患者ら約200人を前にハンセン病について講演する米ルイジアナ州カービル在米国公衆衛生局病院医療部長マーリン・L・ブルーベイカー医師（中央）。医師の通訳をつとめる米国民政府公衆衛生福祉局保健衛生指導係の真栄城美枝子（左）。講演は米下院歳出委員会対外活動分科委員会委員長オットー・E・パスマン議員にちなんでパスマン会館と名付けられた、新しい愛楽苑患者のためのレクリエーション施設で行われた。ブルーベイカー医師は米国民政府の招きで琉球の保健衛生関係者にハンセン病について講演を行うため、11月12日に2度目の来沖を果たした。11月20日にはインドへ向けて出発する予定。
