HAWAIIAN WELFARE EXPERTS MEET OKINAWA JAYCEES - Two internationally-known experts on mental retardation, Dr. Satoru Izutsu (L), director of the Waimano Training School and Hospital in Honolulu; and Mrs. Sylvia Levy (2nd from L), planner for mental retardation programs, State of Hawaii, are shown with Okinawa Jaycees concerned with mental retardation programs July 5 at the Harborview Club in Naha. The two experts arrived in the Ryukyus June 24 for a two-week visit to provide consultations in the field of social welfare services for the U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyu Islands and the Government of the Ryukyu Islands. The visit was in response to a HawaiiOkinawa Jaycees request, and was sponsored by the U.S. Army, Pacific, under its continuing technical assistance program for the Ryukyus. 【和訳】ハワイの福祉専門家が沖縄青年会議所会員と会談 - 国際的に著名な知的障害に関する専門家2人、ホノルルのワイマノ訓練学校で病院長の井筒サトル医師(左)とハワイ州知的障害事業企画担当官のシルヴィア・レヴィ夫人(左から2人目)が7月5日、那覇市のハーバービュークラブで沖縄青年会議所の会員らと会談した。右はオオミジャ・フミコ(右から2人目)と沖縄青年会議所の尚詮会頭。専門家の2人は米国民政府と琉球政府の社会福祉事業分野の協議のため、6月24日から2週間の予定で来沖した。今回の訪問はハワイ-沖縄青年会議所の要請に応えたもので、琉球への継続的技術支援計画に基づき、米太平洋陸軍の後援によるもの。
