EAST-WEST CENTER LEADER OBSERVES TRAINING - Dr. Y. Baron Goto (L, standing), Vice-Chancellor, East-West Center, Institute for Technical Interchange (EWC-ITI), Hawaii, is shown here observing a panel discussion in environmental sanitation training, one of EWC-ITI's three projects on Okinawa. The discussion was conducted by Masao Koga (not shown), Hawaii Island supervisory sanitation engineer, at the Ryukyu Hygienic Laboratory on Nov. 4. Dr. Goto is making a ten-day visit here to observe current U.S. technical assistance projects in the Ryukyus and to discuss future projects. The second four-week training block for more than 50 GRI public health personnel is jointly sponsored by the ITI-EWC, USCAR, and GRI in coordination with the U.S. Army Pacific. 【和訳】ゴトー博士 東西センター指導員が研修を視察 - ハワイの東西文化センター技術研修所が沖縄で実施している3つの事業のうちのひとつ環境衛生研修の小討論会を視察する同研究所副所長Y・バロン・ゴトー博士(左、立ち姿)。琉球衛生研究所で11月4日、ハワイ地区衛生監督官マサオ・コガ(写っていない)による討論が行われた。ゴトー博士は琉球における現在の米国の技術支援事業を視察し、今後の計画について話し合うため、10日間の日程で訪れている。琉球政府保健衛生担当者50人以上を対象とした2回目の4週間の研修は、米太平洋陸軍が協力し、東西センター、米国民政府、琉球政府の共催で行う。
