3 X-RAY UNITS INSTALLED --at the Okinawa Central Hospital by U.S. and Government of the Ryukyu Islands (GRI) maintenance technicians, has saved GRI over $6,506 in contractor installation costs. The installation of X-requipment was performed under the supervision of (L-R): Seibun Katsuren, Okinawa Central Hospital administrator; Sergeant Harold Chittum, medical equipment maintenance supervisor, Medical Division, Public Health and Welfare Dept., U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyu Islands (USCAR); along with Joji Arakaki, director, Toko Higa, chief, X-ray technician and the staff (not shown) of Okinawan Central Hospital X-Ray technicians. The three new X-ray machines were purchased with $62,000 in U.S. Government funds and will fulfill the X-ray diagnostic research requirements and teaching program for interns and residents at the hospital.
