LETTERS OF APPRECIATION -- Dr. Joji Arakaki (C), director, Okinawa Central Hospital in Gushikawa, presents framed letters of appreciation to SFC E7 Harold F. Chittum (L), and Kokichi Gushiken, medical maintenance technicians, Hospital Administration Div., Public Health and Welfare Dept., U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyu Islands. The Technicians were honored for their contribution on the installation of the three X-ray units at the hospital. Dr. Arakaki said, the hospital was greatly impressed "with their untiring efforts'' in installing the units, adding; "We believe that this is the kind of working relationship which helps to deepen understanding between the peoples of the United States and the Ryukyu Islands." The units were installed at the hospital by U.S. and Government of the Ryukyu Islands (GRI) maintenance technicians and saved GRI over $6,500 in contractor installation costs.
