INSECTICIDE FOGGERS PRESENTED TO RYUKYUS GOVERNMENT -- The Office of the High Commissioner yesterday presented 22 portable jet insecticide foggers to the Government of the Ryukyu Islands. The foggers will be used to eradicate disease from the islands. Presentation of the foggers, purchased in the encephalitis control program, was made at the Naha Health Center. According to GRI officials, 20 of the foggers will be distributed to ten district health offices on the island and two to Miyako. Making the presentation on behalf of High Commissioner Paul W. Caraway was Capt. Carl Pace (left) of the Public Health Welfare Department. Receiving the foggers on behalf of GRI was Dr. Chokei Ogimi (center), director of the Naha Health Center. Hiroshi Nokata of the Public Health and Welfare Department is demonstrating the fogger. Each machine costs $320.

琉球政府へ殺虫剤噴霧器贈呈－高等弁務官事務所は昨日、琉球政府へ携帯型殺虫剤ジェット噴霧器22台を贈呈した。噴霧器は琉球列島から病気を根絶するためのもので、脳炎対策事業の枠組みで購入されたもの。場所は那覇保健所。琉球政府の担当者によると、20台が島内の10の保健所、2台が宮古に配布される予定。キャラウェイ高等弁務官に代わり、保健福祉部のカール・ペイス少佐（左）が贈呈。受け取っている琉球政府側は、那覇保健所長のオオギミ・チョウケイ氏（中央）。噴霧器の使い方デモを行うのは保健福祉部のナカタ・ヒロシ氏。1台320ドル。
