ANTI-POLIO MEETINGS were held in the Naha Health Center and at the Koza Cultural Center during the morning and afternoon of Monday, August 7. Here, United States physician Lieutenant Colonel Joseph W. Cooch demonstrates the working of the jet injector inoculator to mayors' representatives, members of women's organization, Ryukyuan medical personnel and the general public. Approximately 150 persons were in the Naha audience, 50 at the Koza meeting. The physicians concentrated on the need for all Ryukyuan children in the one month through five years age group to receive all three anti-polio inoculations.

8月7日月曜日午前及び午後、那覇保健所とコザ琉米文化会館でポリオ対策会議を開催。写真は、米国人医師ジョセフ・W・クーチ中佐が、市長代理、婦人会メンバー、琉球医療関係者、一般市民を前に接種注入器の動作の実演をしているところ。那覇会場では約150名、コザ会場では約50名が参加。生後1カ月から5歳までの琉球の児童全員がポリオ予防接種全3回を受ける必要があり、医師たちは会場に集まった。
