HIGH COMMISSIONER DISPATCHES FOUR TEAMS TO SURVEY TYPHOON “CORA” DAMAGE -- Utilizing two helicopters and one airplane, four U.S. Civil Administration survey teams organized at the direction of High Commissioner James B. Lampert and including Government of the Ryukyu Islands and Japanese Government representatives Aug. 22 and 23 inspected damage from typhoon No. 9 (Cora) which lashed Okinawa and outlying island on Aug. 19 and 20. B. ランパート高等弁務官の指示により、米民政府は8月22日、23日の両日、台風コラ(8月19日および20日)の被害状況を調査するため、4つの調査班を軍のヘリコプターおよび飛行機で離島へ派遣した。渡嘉敷、渡名喜、座間味、久米島、伊是名、伊平屋の各離島の調査で、住宅の全、半壊、畜舎の損害、野菜類の全滅等が判明した。調査には、琉球政府、日本政府沖縄事務所の関係者も参加した。
