Mr. Malsolm F. Slayter (2nd from L), chief of scholarship and training division, Education Dept., the U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyus (USCAR) receives a letter of appreciation from Mr. Chokei Kochi, director, Police Dept., Government of the Ryukyu Islands (GRI), Nov. 22, expressing "sincere appreciation" for Mr. Slayter's assistance and guidance rendered to the overall training program of the department. Mr. Slayter, of Boston, Massachusetts, will depart Okinawa with his family Nov. 26, for reassignment in Washington D.C. Others are Mr, Harriman N. Simmons, director, Public Safety Dept.
