Ａt a dedication ceremony of the new Kyoei steel bar plant at Kowan, Urasoe-Son, southern Okinawa, Feb.6. With the completion of the new plant, the Kyoei will increase its total production capacity to 8,500 metric tons of steel bars each month as compared with 3,500 tons currently produced at its old plant. The new plant was financed through a $150,000 loan from the Ryukyu Development Loan Corporation (RDLC); a Japan Import-Export Bank loan of $664,980 guaranteed by RDLC; a $233,000 loan from the Bank of the Ryukyus and a capital investment of $452,020, for a total investment of $1,500,000. In the production of steel bars, the plant uses iron ingots imported from Japan, West Germany, and India.

2月6日に行われた浦添村小湾の新しい共栄製鋼工場の落成式。工場の完成により現在の旧工場での月生産3,500トンから8,500トンへ増加することになる。新工場の資金調達は琉球開発金融公社から15万ドル、琉球開発金融公社の保証による日本輸出入銀行から664,980ドル、琉球銀行から23万3,000ドル、資本投資による45万2,020ドルの合計150万ドルの融資により行われた。棒鋼の製造には日本、西ドイツ、インドから輸入した純鉄塊を使用する。
