T, Unger, noted in his remarks the Orion Breweries have demonstrated their ability and "stand as an example of what can actually be achieved in a free and democratic society through courage and determination, coupled with hard work and far-sighted leadership." The Orion Breweries were established in 1957 with authorized capital of $417,000 financed with the assistance of loans from the Bank of the Ryukyus and the Ryukyu Reconstruction Finance Fund, predecessor of the Ryukyu Development Loan Corporation.

F・T・アンガー高等弁務官に代わってリチャードソン副民政官はオリオンビール会社の業績を称え、「勇気と決意をもって仕事に励み、先見の明のあるリーダーシップによって、自由で民主的な社会で実際に達成できることを示す模範となっている」と述べた。オリオンビールは琉球銀行と琉球開発金融公社の前身となる琉球復興金融金庫からの融資を受け、1957年に資本金417,000ドルで設立された。
