One official of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and three representatives of the American Angus Association (AAA), accompanied by officials of the U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyu Islands (USCAR) and Government of the Ryukyu Islands (GRl), visited Iejima, west of Okinawa, on April 12. With 70 Angus bulls, Iejima has the largest single herd among, municipalities in the Ryukyus. 4月12日、米国農務省の職員1人と米国アンガス協会の3人の代表者は、琉球列島米国民政府と琉球政府の職員を伴い沖縄県西部の伊江島を訪問した。伊江島は琉球の自治体の中でも最大の70頭のアンガス牛を育てている。伊江島のアンガス牛の繁殖の進捗状況を調査する様子で写真は左から、伊江村長の知念彦吉氏、農林局畜産課長比嘉行雄、米民政府公衆衛生福祉局獣医担当官補佐ブレント・R・ベイカー大尉、米国農務省外国農業局畜産食肉生産部長ジェイムス・ハートマン、米国アンガス協会事務局長、グレン・ブラッチャー、同協会極東代表A・H・マイヤーズ及び公衆衛生福祉局通訳エドワード・M・カネシマの各氏。米国のアンガス牛専門家は琉球のアンガス牛飼育者と話し合うため4月11日に来島したもの。
