Mr. Takumi Kono (L), agricultural education program assistant, Hawaii District Schools, Hawaii State Department of Education, visited the Hokubu Agricultural and Forestry Senior High School in northern Okinawa to discuss agricultural education programs with teachers of the school on June 25. Here, Mr. Kono discusses the growing method of green pepper with Mr. Seifuku Oshiro, teacher of the school. Others standing are Mr. Takenari Tamashiro, deputy director; and Itsuo Yamamoto (R), teacher. Mr. Kono's ten-day tour to the Rrukyus was sponsored by the U.S. Army Pacific headquarters in Kawaii in coordination with the Office of the High Commissioner of the Ryukyu Islands under a continuing U.S. technical assistance program for the Ryukyus.

タクミ・コノ氏 (左、ハワイ州教育省ハワイ地区学校農業教育プログラムアシスタント) は6月25日、沖縄北部の北部農林高等学校を訪問し、農業教育プログラムについて同校の教諭達と話し合った。写真ではコノ氏とオオシロ・セイフク教諭がピーマンの栽培方法について話し合うところ。その他、タマシロ・タケナリ [deputy director] とヤマモト・イツオ教諭 (右) が立っている。コノ氏は琉球列島米国民政府高等弁務官室による調整のもとハワイの米陸軍太平洋本部によって後援されている琉球の人々に対する米国の技術支援プログラムの下、10日間のツアーで滞在中である。
