Men of the U.S. Army, 9th Logistical Command had an excuse Monday, Apr. 17, for playing hookey and going to the circus―they were escorting 160 deaf and mute pupils from the Morogakko in Shuri. The men of the 9th Logistical Command have adopted the school for blind, deaf and mute as part of their "people-to-people" program. In another phase of their program, they will take the kids on an outing to Imubu Beach on May 17.
【和訳】 陸軍部隊はハンディキャップを持った子供をサーカスに招待した
米陸軍第9第9兵站司令部の隊員は、4月17日月曜日、首里の盲ろう学校から160人の聴覚障がいをもった生徒達をサーカスに行く口実にに学校を休ませた。第9第9兵站司令部の隊員は、彼らの「ピープルトゥピープル」プログラムの一環として、視覚障がい者と聴覚障がい者の学校を採用している。また、プログラムの別の段階では、彼らは5月17日にいんぶビーチに子供たちを連れていく。
