Seihan Shimabukuro (L), second place winner in the recent Okinawa Soap Box Derby, placed his $500 prize in time deposit at the Bank of Ryukyus on July 5. Tensei Taba, business manager of the Bank (R), accepts the check and presents Shimabukuro with his bank book. Accompanying Shimabukuro is William E. Matchett (C), president of the Okinawa Soft Drinks Company; the company was sponsor for Shimabukuro in the Soap Box Derby which was held on June 24 at Kadena Air Base.
