The title "Nise Akashiya" is the name of a street tree on which Miyako, a blind daughter of Katsuzo who runs a Japanese fly caterer's shop, and her friend Michiyo carved their friendship. The play tells the story of Katsuzo's family in which father and his four children seek happiness - a scene of ordinary civic life carried in an obscure nook of a community.
【和訳】 八重山琉米文化会館
「ニセアカシヤ」というのは街路樹の名前で、揚げ物屋を営むカツゾウ氏の盲目の娘ミヨコが友人のミチヨと友情を深める物語。劇はカツゾウ家の物語で、父と4人の子供たちが幸せを求めて、村の片隅で繰り広げられる平凡な庶民の生活の情景を描く。
