Seitoku Oshiro (L), assistant curator, Government of the Ryukyu Islands Museum; and Shinichi Nagata (C), director of the Yaeyama Ryukyuan-American Cultural Center, called on Dr. Samuel H. Mukaida (R), chief, Cultural Affairs Division, Public Affairs Dept., U.S. Civil Administration of the Ryukyu Islands (USCAR), following a three-month study of museum and library techniques in the United States. The Technical Training Program was sponsored by the U.S. Dept. of Army under the supervision of the USCAR and the U.S. Dept. of Health, Education, and Welfare.

米国の博物館と図書館での3か月の技術研修を終え、琉球列島米国民政府広報局文化事業のサムエル・N・向田課長 (右) に報告する琉球政府博物館の大城精徳学芸員補佐 (左) と八重山琉米文化会の長田信一館長 (中央) 。技術研修プログラムは、琉球列島米国民政府と米国保健教育福祉省監督のもと米陸軍が後援したもの。
